Computer Reseller News Declares LiveVault Service Has A Lock On Online Backup

CRN Magazine Recommends LiveVault Online Backup Service for Server Backup

(PRWEB) July 15, 2005 -- U.S. Data Trust Corporation (www.usdatatrust.com), a rapidly growing provider of data protection and recovery services for business servers, today announced that the LiveVault Online Backup and Recovery Service has been recommended by Computer Reseller News.

Computer Reseller News performed extensive testing and evaluation of the LiveVault Service as a solution for the backup, archiving and recovery of mission critical servers. CRN awarded the LiveVault Service four stars and a Recommended status.

The review stated that "customers can enjoy a wide range of benefits when outsourcing their data protection needs using a service such as LiveVault. Businesses can avoid having to make costly hardware and software infrastructure investments. Also, outsourcing a digital archive solution saves the customer from having to hire and train additional IT staff, fulfill retrieval requests, store and manage physical media (such as tapes or platters), preserve and migrate media, and oversee associated data center activities—all time-consuming and expensive tasks.

Key features of the LiveVault Service include:

  • Fully automated service—eliminates the risk of human error
  • Disk-based backup and recovery—removes the failure and burden associated with tape
  • Integrated backup, offsite storage, archiving and recovery—for complete data protection
  • Automatic offsite storage via the Internet—enables 100% guaranteed recovery of data
  • Onsite LiveVault TurboRestore appliance (optional)—for local rapid recovery of data
  • Continuous data protection (CDP)—transmits only the bytes that change as they change

"CRN's recommendation adds to the LiveVault Service's long list of awards and favorable reviews by leading IT publications and organizations. LiveVault has beat other online server backup providers in these tests and reviews every single time," said Paul Hrabal, President of U.S. Data Trust Corporation.

U.S. Data Trust's LiveVault Online Backup Service is sold as a managed service with plans starting as low as $140 per month. Installation is usually completed in less than 20 minutes using a simply "point and click" web interface. Once configured, the service runs automatically in the background with the U.S. Data Trust Service Operations Center monitoring backup and restore operations 24 hours a day.
