Austin, TX (PRWEB) July 18, 2005 -- STI Healthcare, Inc. (STI) announced that it has signed a pilot agreement with BJC HealthCare, Inc. (BJC) in St. Louis, MO. The purpose of the pilot is to implement a service that will provide selected patient data from transcribed reports to populate an automated event detection data repository.

This project is designed to demonstrate the feasibility of detecting and tabulating two important patient safety issues; post-operative deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism and surgical site infections. Additionally, a disease condition (congestive heart failure) will be identified with the goal of enabling real-time intervention to improve adherence to evidence-based treatment guidelines.

Jamie Lagarde, COO of STI Healthcare, Inc. said, We are delighted that we can assist BJC HealthCare as they continue their focus on these important patient safety and quality improvement initiatives."
