Connexion by Boeing-equipped plane hosts Blog Business Summit editorial retreat.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) July 19, 2005 -- Connexion by Boeing, a business unit of The Boeing Company and The Blog Business Summit Conference announced a first for the Blogosphere today. Several influential bloggers issued their posts from 30,000 feet while winging their way to a conference planning retreat today. A Boeing 737-400 equipped with high-speed Internet access by conference sponsor Connexion by Boeing provided an airborne wireless hotspot to summit speakers during a technology demonstration flight between Seattle and Walla Walla, Washington.

Conference speakers, leading journalists and other well known bloggers are benefiting from a chance to test high-speed access to the World Wide Web; two-way, real-time e-mail and their corporate intranet, including virtual private network capability.

It will be hard to go back to a non-connected flight after this experience
"Finally, a way to communicate effectively in the air," said Robert Scoble, who is a top blogger for Microsoft. "It will be hard to go back to a non-connected flight after this experience," he continued.

Steve Broback, organizer of the gathering said, "After getting a chance to try the Connexion service recently, I jumped at the chance to provide high-speed access to a group that demands to be connected 24/7. I contacted several of our conference speakers as the folks at Boeing offered the opportunity."

"No other group demands constant, broadband wireless connectivity more than the blogging and technical communities." said Vice President of Marketing and Direct Sales David Friedman. "We felt that fulfilling the in-flight needs of this particularly demanding audience would help spread the word about our performance advantage."

The Blog Business Summit brings expert bloggers together with entrepreneurial and corporate businesspeople for workshops on how to leverage the blogging platform for profit, collaborative, and public relations benefits. The San Francisco event will be held at San Francisco's Palace Hotel August 17-19.
