Sept. 23 Concert Opens Three-Day Festival Fundraiser at Faithful Shepherd Event to Feature Six Bands, Carnival Rides, Games and Fare

EAGAN, Minn. (PRWEB) July 22, 2005 -– Davy Jones, former member of The Monkees, tops a line-up of six bands scheduled to perform at Septemberfest, an outdoor festival to be held Friday, Sept. 23, through Sunday, Sept. 25 in Eagan, Minn. The second annual end-of-summer/start-of-autumn block party and carnival is hosted by Eagans Faithful Shepherd Catholic School and Tri-Parish Center.

Davy Jones brings our annual festival its first internationally recognized performer and an icon of Baby Boomers who call the suburbs home," said Septemberfest chair, Brian Howard. Along with Davy Jones, our celebration will offer fun-seekers of all ages music and carnival entertainment in a small, festive venue. The combination of daytime family games and rides, great food and beverages and evening concerts for our towns rock-and-roll fans, help make Septemberfest ‘The Biggest Little Block Party in the Burbs."

The current schedule for Septemberfest:

  • The Davy Jones concert begins at 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23. Fergie Fredericksen, former lead singer of TOTO, will open the event with a performance at 7 p.m.
  • The Johnny Holm Band, one of Minnesotas favorite bands, will perform for the second year at Septemberfest at 9 p.m. on Sept. 24. The band will be preceded at 6 p.m. by the Tonecats, a Twin Cities group that covers five decades of rock hits.
  • Free concerts will be offered by the classic rock group Zebra Mussels at 2 p.m. on Sept. 24 and Minnesota Christian rock band C.W. Rocks on Sept. 25 at 1 p.m.
  • The festival grounds will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight on Sept. 23; noon to midnight on Sept. 24; and noon to 4 p.m. on Sept. 25.

In addition to concerts, Septemberfest will feature a midway with rides and games, an indoor family-fun zone filled with kids games and activities, a food court with carnival-favorite treats and hometown entrees, and a beer garden adjacent to the concert pavilion. The midway and refreshment area hours are: Sept. 23 from 6 p.m. to midnight; Sept. 24 noon to midnight; Sept. 25 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

All concerts take place in Septemberfests festival pavilion, which offers indoor and outdoor seating. Tickets for the Davy Jones and Johnny Holm concerts and more information on the event are available online at www.fscsMN.org or by calling the Faithful Shepherd office at (651) 406-4747.
