(PRWEB) July 24, 2005 -- The Third Way, a revolutionary movement for peace and world transformation, announced today the launching of its 300 Points of Light and Army of 300 Campaigns.

The 300 Points of Light Campaign is seeking to identify 300 candidates for the November 2006 congressional elections. The Army of 300 Campaign is organizing 300 groups to support these candidates.

Dr. Donald K. Schubert, clinical psychologist and founder of The Third Way, states that The Third Way takes the best from both liberal and conservative philosophy. There are aspects of liberalism and aspects of conservatism that could be used for the great benefit and progress of American society. Compassion for the downtrodden and the quest for social justice are admirable ideals of liberalism just as personal responsibility and the passion for individual freedom are admirable ideals of conservatism."

In terms of ending the war in Iraq in a morally responsible fashion, The Third Way supports convening an international peace conference that would promote peace, democracy, and reconstruction in Iraq. Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, The Third Way suggests that the United States convene a peace conference and invite Prime Minister Sharon and President Abbas, persuading them to stay until a peace agreement is finalized. In terms of the war on terrorism, The Third Way recommends that the United States government stop supporting authoritarian regimes like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Pakistan.

Kenneth J. Schubert, multilingual translator and senior policy advisor, says that The Third Way seeks solutions beyond our current polarization. American society is facing a variety of challenging problems –– alternative solutions that reflect a middle ground are sorely needed."
