Model Vida Guerra says Walls Coming Down in Hollywood for Curvy Women

Model Vida Guerra is now one of the top 10 most searched-for female celebrities on the Internet, joining the likes of Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, Carmen Electra and Oprah Winfrey. Vida attributes her instant popularity and unfolding acting opportunities to shifting attitudes in the entertainment industry towards different body types.

(PRWEB) July 26, 2005 --In a summer where celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie are under a critical media spotlight for their increasingly gaunt appearance, fast-rising model and actress Vida Guerra is joining stars including Kate Winslet and Beyonce in refusing to starve herself for fame.

In a celebrity interview and saucy pictorial with online mens portal Xposed.com, Vida Guerra talks about rapid fame and suddenly having one of the most recognizable bodies in show business.

Early last year she cracked the top 10 among the Internet's most searched-for female celebrities, joining the likes of Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, Carmen Electra and Oprah Winfrey.

She said her popularity suggests the entertainment industry is warming to models and actresses with different body types. Vida, a Cuban-born beauty who became a modeling sensation after appearing in FHM Magazine 2 years back, is famous for her curves, including her now much-publicized rear end. Readers responded to her first appearance by an unprecedented 70% of the magazines mail that month consisting of a flood of requests on Vida.

She quickly established herself and has since been featured in numerous radio and television programs including two appearances on 'Chapelles Show,' magazines, commercials, music videos, and exploring a singing career.

Acting came next, with two movies already under her belt ('Writers Block' 2003, 'Fake Preacher,' 2005) as she wraps up National Lampoon Presents: 'Dorm Daze II,' due out shortly.

"Im not the one who opened guys eyes, but I think my pictures sort of helped break down the wall in Hollywood because before, (producers and casting agents) would just say, 'Oh, shes too fat,'" Vida said. Obviously all men dont like that, and times are changing. Some men are into that look, but a lot of men arent.

"Hollywood has this thing that you have to be really skinny because the camera makes you look 10 pounds heavier. But obviously, people are responding. I get letters from women thanking me and wanting fitness and food tips." Not to mention one male fan being enamored enough to get a Vida tattoo, while another artistic type did a sculpture in her honor.
Vida has a new 16-month calendar out and a behind-the-scenes DVD. Clips from that program appear on Xposed.com, and Vidas feature and pictorial runs on the Web site beginning July 25.
