Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) July 26, 2005 -- Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie leave the gossip columns to star in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, a romantic action comedy that Newsweeks David Ansen calls hilarious."

Directed by Doug Liman, this action thriller laced with comedy, is about a pair of lovebirds who discover theyve both been living dangerous secret lives. Jolie and Pitt play Jane and John Smith, world-class assassins. Jane thinks her husband runs a successful construction company, and John believes his wife works on Wall Street. However, when Jane and John are both assigned to take out the same target--one Benjamin Danz, played by Adam Brody--they become aware of each others secret lives, and suddenly both their careers and their marriage go through some dramatic and potentially deadly changes.

Their antics are captured on film by Bojan Bazelli, director of photography, who used Cooke Lenses to capture all the drama and excitement. According to an article by John Calhoun in American Cinematographer magazine, Bazellis lenses comprised Cookes innovative S4 Primes and Cooke Panchros, and he used the older Panchros for most close-ups.

A newer lens just snaps into focus," explains first AC John Holmes, who like, Tony Nako" Nakonechny, has worked with Bazelli for years. Panchros have a softer transition to focus and a soft, warmer look. I guess you could say the Panchros are what Bojan used instead of diffusion," Holmes said.

Cooke is a storied name in both cinemagraphic and the ultra-high-end professional photography markets. Known worldwide for their precision, exacting tolerances and superior quality, Cooke lenses are specified by many of the most renowned directors of photography and cinematographers in Hollywood. Cooke S4 Prime lenses, acclaimed for their unique mechanical design and extraordinary photographic qualities, have been used to shoot several of the most renowned and visually beautiful motion pictures of all time, both in Hollywood and internationally. Other recent box office releases shot with Cooke lenses include Cinderella Man, Ray, Bridget Joness Diary, Chicago, Under the Tuscan Sun, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and the extraordinarily beautiful Girl With a Pearl Earring.
