BRYN MAWR, PA (PRWEB) August 1, 2005 -– The American College, the leader in financial services education, recently launched a new weblog (blog) on its website.

Known as "The Wealth Channel," this blog will provide financial professionals and the public with a place to ask questions, share information, and be heard. Reading and participating in this blog will enhance students awareness of the important issues facing financial practitioners and their clients. To participate in The Wealth Channel blog, go to http://wealthchannel.blogspot.com or visit The American Colleges homepage.

Those who submit entries or comments can choose to identify themselves or remain anonymous. The blog also serves as a way for users to directly communicate with American College President and CEO Dr. Larry Barton.

This blog opens up a new channel of communication that anyone can take part in," said Barton. I hope the full spectrum of financial services professionals will participate in this blog and I look forward to hearing their views and stimulating discussion on a wide range of important industry topics."

Blogs are online journals that reflect personal opinions and are primarily open to the public for viewing and commenting. In their short history, blogs have established themselves as a new form of communication and have helped expose wrongdoings by corporations and provided a communication channel breaking news. In fact, many news organizations now get a portion of their news from blogs. Important issues currently being discussed on The Wealth Channel include professional business ethics, commission disclosure, and the middle market.

The American College is the nations leading non-profit educator of professionals in the insurance and financial services industry. Located on a 35-acre campus in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, The College is a public charity that serves over 35,000 students annually, predominantly on a distance education basis. The American College offers an array of specialized designation programs, Master of Science degrees in several disciplines and customized continuing education programs for those pursuing a career in financial services.
