This award also commemorates her 50th Gold and/or Platinum Certification. This massive framed award, measuring 78-inches tall x 102-inches wide x 3-inches deep and weighing approximately 150-plus pounds, was personally presented to Barbra Streisand by the President of Sony Records, Tommy Mottola, at her BACK TO BROADWAY listening party, May 13, 1993, at the Eugene ONeil Theater in New York City. The award has been proudly displayed at the corporate offices of Sony Music in New York City for 12-years.
The highly ornate, art deco-style award features an oversized gold-leaf wood-frame that surrounds the number 50," which is spelled out by 110 gold compact discs, hereby referred to as CD 50."
