Universal Pictures' upcoming film, "SERENITY", to debut on mobile phones in an exciting space adventure game.
Mumbai India, Los Angeles (PRWEB) August 6, 2005 -- Indiagames, a leading mobile entertainment content developer, has signed a worldwide licensing agreement (excluding Japan) with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group to bring wireless content based on Universal Pictures upcoming futuristic action-adventure film Serenity, to mobile phone users. Written and directed by Joss Whedon, (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel), Serenity is a futuristic action-adventure film scheduled for release in the Unites States and Canada on September 30, 2005.
Indiagames, known for its top selling mobile games published around the world, will develop and publish a Serenity Space Shooter title, allowing gameplay as Captain Malcolm of the Serenity spaceship in a top-view flying game. Players are challenged to make it to the planet Miranda; to get to the bottom of the conspiracy locked inside Rivers mind—the conspiracy that the Alliance wants to cover up. The game allows players to fight their way through Alliance vessels, ground attacks and Reavers, while enjoying action levels interspersed with dexterity oriented docking levels. Players must pick up rebels (who will pay credits to be transported from one space port to the next) and use their credits to upgrade the Serenity spaceship.

When Mal takes on two new passengers—a young doctor and his unstable, telepathic sister—he gets much more than he bargained for. The pair are fugitives from the coalition dominating the universe, who will stop at nothing to reclaim the girl. The crew that was once used to skimming the outskirts of the galaxy unnoticed find themselves caught between the unstoppable military force of the Universal Alliance and the horrific, cannibalistic fury of the Reavers, savages who roam the very edge of space. Hunted by vastly different enemies, they begin to discover that the greatest danger to them may be on board Serenity herself.
Serenity is written and directed by Joss Whedon; produced by Barry Mendel; and executive-produced by Chris Buchanan and Alisa Tager. The film stars Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Adam Baldwin, Alan Tudyk, Jewel Staite, Morena Baccarin, Summer Glau, Sean Maher, Ron Glass and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
