September is for the BIRDS at STAR ECO Station! Soaring in defiance of gravity, birds are among the planets most majestic and intelligent creatures. Let your imagination take flight with a month-long celebration of birds, every weekend in September at the STAR ECO Station, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

(PRWEB) August 11, 2005 -- September is for the BIRDS at STAR ECO Station. Soaring in defiance of gravity, birds are among the planets most majestic and intelligent creatures. Let your imagination take flight with a month-long celebration of birds, every weekend in September at the STAR ECO Station, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

BIRDS is an interactive exhibit of live birds, Bird Brain trivia, art, games, and prizes, saluting all feathered friends who talk, squawk, sing and soar.

STAR ECO Station is a non-profit environment education museum and exotic wildlife rescue center that offers sanctuary for rare and exotic macaws, cockatoos, African grays, toucans, conures and more, as well as more than 100 species of reptiles, wildcats and sea life.

Founded in 1997 by Erick, Sr. and Katya Bozzi, and their children, Erick, Jr. and Katiana Bozzi, the STAR ECO Station is dedicated to its mission of Preservation Through Education and offers the most innovative, interactive and inspiring environmental education programs for its students and the community.

In partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, STAR ECO Station provides rescue and rehabilitation of illegal or abandoned at-risk exotic wildlife at our 18,000 square-foot facility in Culver City, as well as provides environmental education outreach programs, in over 40 California school districts. Through assemblies, classroom instruction, community events, fieldtrips, summer camps, childrens birthday parties and tours of the rescue facility, STAR ECO Station inspires learners of all ages.

Visitors experience hand-on lessons of ecology and environmentalism on a wild and fun encounter with rescued tropical birds, exotic reptiles, wildcats and ocean life in a tropical setting. Environmental partnerships enhance the station with 15 educational displays from such organizations as the World Wildlife Fund, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Surfrider, and Santa Monica BayKeepers unique walk-thru Kelp Forest and storm drain display.

There exists an alarming, widespread lack of knowledge and compassion for the Earth, which we passionately believe can be reversed through educating children. Aligned with California State Standards for environmental science, the STAR ECO Stations interdisciplinary, hands-on lessons of compassion and empathy for the natural world inspire children to a understand their role in conservation, resource management and responsible consumerism.

Event admission is $5 for kids, $6 for seniors, $7 for adults. Call 310.842.8060 x122 for more information, or visit www.ecostation.org.
