Traditional product activation, typcially found in modern software applications has the side effect of "phoning home". This typically involves either contacting the Internet or a phone number to do product activation via the application. As a result, end-users tend to label software utilizing product activation as "spyware". The ShareWrap Product Activation system uses only trusted applications, such as their web browser, to perform product activation and therefore reduces the risk of getting a "spyware" label.
Additionally, traditional product activation systems require the user to call a company when they wish to reinstall the software. The overhead involved is typically costly. ShareWrap Product Activation solves this problem with Smart Rule technology that the software developer controls.
