N4ME Frees Users from Checking Their Downloads

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

Users tired of constantly checking their PC downloads, bulk copies and backups will have found a friend in Data Converter Systems new product N4ME" (Inform Me) which was released on the Internet today. The software monitors file copies and downloads and sends email or txt notifications to one or more addresses, informing the reader as to whether file copy or download was successful or not.

Wellington, New Zealand (PRWEB) August 16, 2005 -- Its an idea so obvious, you wonder why no one thought of it sooner. The computer informing you by email or txt message when downloads are complete. Thats the aim of N4ME (Inform ME), which allows users to receive download and file copy notifications almost anywhere.

Developed by New Zealand based software company Data Converter Systems, N4ME for Windows 2000/XP is designed to automate the task of monitoring download and file copies.

The program watches web, ftp, kazza and irc downloads and sends an email report specific to each download.

In addition, the software can copy files, attach UNC (Universal Naming Convention) addresses for one click access to files and email differing email distribution lists depending on whether the download was successful of not.

Essentially, we want to free the user from the desktop" says Data Converter Systems Co-Founder and Software Engineer Simone Phillips. Its amazing that you can receive txt and email services on just about anything, but we dont receive them on whether your file copy or web download has finished. That is until now. For example, N4ME can issue an email alert when new word documents, power point presentations, excel or project files arrive in a folder complete with a link so users can get immediate access to the file".
