Music & Motion Dance Productions will be performing live on the Fox Network - "Good Day Philadelphia" on Tuesday, August 30, 2005, between 6:30 - 9 a.m. as a prelude to their upcoming performance in the Philadelphia Fringe over Labor Day Weekend.
(PRWEB) August 26, 2005 -- Tuesday, August 30, 2005, between 6:30 - 9 a.m., Music & Motion Dance Productions will perform live on the Fox Network - Good Day Philadelphia". Music & Motion will be showcasing six pieces from their new dance work ELEMENTS, which is set to premiere at the Philly Fringe.
ELEMENTS explores the four elements of antiquity - earth, water, air and fire. Fourteen female dancers, ages 14 to 18, have collaborated in an artistic vision joining together the roots of our planet, of our spirits and each other. Humorous and abstract pieces offer a kaleidoscope of movement inspired by these ancient elements.
The development of "Elements" has marked a milestone for this company, now in its fifth year. It will also be the second appearance by what is one of the youngest performance groups at the Philly Fringe. Over twenty new dance pieces have been created for presentation at Fringe 2005. The rather striking and varied choreography was formed by the entire dance company and represents a true feast for the senses. Each element is portrayed with a mixture of dance styles ranging from classical ballet to more eclectic mixtures of modern, lyrical, hip-hop and acro.
Music & Motion Dance Productions is a non-profit corporation, which is both owned and operated by teens with mentoring from outside corporations and individuals. It is a group of pre-professional dancers ages fourteen thru eighteen, who have expressed an interest in pursuing dance and the performing arts. Under the artistic direction of Steven Weisz, this groups mission has been to empower young people through dance and creative collaboration in the performing arts, building self-esteem and inspiring self expression and community action.
To that end, Music & Motion performs locally and in surrounding communities throughout the year, as well as performances in a fully professional atmosphere presented for corporations, museums, gardens, and live arts related venues. Music & Motion fulfills the need for providing young dancers with performing experience in a nurturing environment, while continually exciting audiences wherever they perform. The collaborative efforts of the entire company create a synergy rich in imagination, celebration and spirit.

Music & Motion Dance will appear on September 2 & 3 at 8 p.m., as part of the Philly Fringe, at the National Constitution Center, 525 Arch Street, Philadelphia. Tickets are $15 for general admission and must be purchased in advance.
