Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) Announces Three More Additions to Board of Advisors

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) August 9, 2005 -- The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) today announced the appointment of three new members to its Advisory Board that will provide different perspectives of the industry to help with the organizations strategies and goals. The new SEMPO Advisory Board members are Shana Fisher, Senior Vice President, Strategy and M&A, IAC/InterActiveCorp; Martin E. Laetsch, Manager, Worldwide Search, Intel Corporation; and Randy Peterson, IT Manager, Consumer Connect Program, Procter & Gamble.

The three new members join Dan Boberg, Director of Strategic Alliances at Overture; Chris LaSala, the Search Engine Marketing Channel Manager at Google; Neg Norton, the President of the Yellow Pages Integrated Media Association; and Safa Rashtchy, a managing director of Piper Jaffray and well known industry analyst on the SEMPO Advisory Board.

Shana Fisher is the Senior Vice President, Strategy and M&A of IAC/InterActiveCorp. From December 2003 to January 2005 Ms. Fisher served as IACs Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning, and prior to that as the Senior Vice President of Business Operations for IAC.

Previously, Ms. Fisher served as Vice President and Director, Media and Technology Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance for Allen & Company, LLC. In this capacity she lead principle investments and advised publicly traded technology firms, private telecommunications firms and media companies. Prior to Allen & Company, LLC., Ms. Fisher was a program manager for the Microsoft Corporation and prior to that she was a software developer for I/O 360 Consulting.

Ms. Fisher received her B.A. from Hampshire College with a triple major in Sculpture, Philosophy and Linguistics and attended the Master of Arts and Sciences program at New York University.

Martin Laetsch joined Intel in August 1997 as a software engineering manager working with developers to optimize software for the Pentium® processor with MMXTM technology. He went on to become the Software Internationalization manager for the Pentium® II processor in 1998 and formed an internal Creative Services group in 1999 to create developer focused marketing communications. He managed the Creative Services group through early 2002 when he became the Strategic Communications manager for the developer audience. In 2003, Martin worked with the Corporate Internet Marketing team to centralize all search marketing activities across the company which he is directing today as the Manager of Worldwide Search.

Prior to joining Intel, Martin spent several years as a senior support engineer at Microsoft working with the Windows® desktop operating system. He also raced whitewater jetboats where he was ranked number 2 in the world when he retired to pursue his career at Intel.

Randy Peterson is IT Manager in the P&G Consumer Connect program. He leads the innovation program for P&G Global Interactive Marketing; including search marketing.

Randy Peterson received his BS in Computer Science from the University of North Dakota and has held senior system analyst positions with ATT and Comtel Communications. In 1993 he joined Procter & Gamble Far East where he held positions working in Japan, Singapore and the Philippines. Randy is now located in Cincinnati.
