Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) Sept. 1, 2005 -- Big Nerd Ranch Offers Another Chance to Learn Core Data: Cocoa Bootcamp on Tiger November 14-18, 2005

Big Nerd Ranch announces the popular Cocoa Bootcamp, featuring the Core Data. Core Data represents one of the Tiger's key new features by simplifying the creation of data models for the developer. Features such as redo, undo and data persistence are now integrated components of Tiger that aid in streamlining the development process. Cocoa Bootcamp instructor, Aaron Hillegass, recently re-structured the curriculum, incorporating Core Data and other exciting new Tiger features into the existing syllabus. These updates are vital in helping students emerge from the intensive, five-day bootcamp armed with the most cutting-edge skills available to Cocoa developers.

Cocoa Bootcamp still features all of the topics that garnered the class such industry acclaim. After an initial overview of Objective-C, students delve deeply into the heart of Cocoa development. Topics include controls, delegates, Nib files, and user defaults. Within the first day, students begin writing their first code in Cocoa and developing mastery of the fundamentals before progressing on to advanced topics such as OpenGL, bindings, Interface Builder, the creation of classes, frameworks, view swapping, and Tiger's XCode 2.1. After five labor-intensive days, Cocoa Bootcamp students will have developed their first comprehensive, sophisticated Cocoa application and will be ready to transfer the knowledge they've gained to the real-world development challenges awaiting them at home.

"Ever since Tiger's release earlier this year, developers are beginning to realize the full potential that Core Data offers the developer," said Cocoa Bootcamp instructor, Aaron Hillegass. "Redesigning the course to unlock that potential for new and existing Cocoa developers has been supremely satisfying. Seeing the moment when it "clicks" for them is exciting. You can see them realizing how this new release can make their jobs that much easier and the possibilities for application development expand that much more."

Mr. Hillegass, whose experience as a Cocoa developer makes him the ideal instructor for Cocoa Bootcamp, boasts an extensive career in development and instruction. His book, Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X, has rapidly become one of the fundamental reference books for Cocoa Developers and is the primary text used for class. Students are encouraged to bring their own work to class to ask questions and utilize Mr. Hillegass's expertise to resolve issues. The flexibility of the syllabus allows room to highlight certain topics to provide a more useful and personalized course for students, whether the student is a novice or a long-time Cocoa developer seeking to deepen his or her skills.
