In order to simultaneously help families devastated by Hurricane Katrina and those hungry for a positive plan to help children with ADHD thrive, Celebrate!ADHD® has agreed to donate all proceeds from books and services in September to Hurricane Katrina victims with a goal of raising $75,000.

(PRWEB) September 6, 2005 -- The tragic aftermath of Hurricane Katrina has coincided with the return to school of millions of children affected by Attention Deficit Disorder and ADHD.

Families devastated by Katrina are desperate for basic living supplies. At the same time, millions of families across the country are hungry for a positive plan to help children with ADHD thrive.

Executive Director Kirk Martin says. So we decided to practice what we teach — use our gifts and passions to benefit others.
Celebrate!ADHD®, the nations preeminent organization equipping children with ADHD for success, has created a unique solution to meet the needs of both.

Like most Americans, weve been asking how we can help," Executive Director Kirk Martin says. So we decided to practice what we teach — use our gifts and passions to benefit others."

During the month of September, Celebrate!ADHD will donate proceeds from the sale of its two new books, Parent/Teacher Workshops, Adopt-A-Teacher program and Back-to-School Camps to the American Red Cross.

This is our passion — helping parents and teachers foster each childs natural gifts and strengths."

With two books debuting in September — one for parents titled, Celebrate! ADHD" and a novel featuring a teenager with ADD, Gifted," — this month was already deemed the most pivotal of the year. Given the extent of the tragedy, the organization feels an even added sense of urgency to exceed sales projections.

Selling even just 5,000 books in September would raise $75,000 to immediately improve the lives of thousands of families along the Gulf Coast.

Were humbled by the prospect of enabling parents to purchase books and services that dramatically improve their childs self-confidence, relationships and school performance," Martin adds, while the proceeds from their purchases directly benefit so many hurting families."

America has suffered a loss of dignity and culture through the devastation to the people and city of New Orleans. Society also suffers tremendous losses when children with ADHD are not recognized for their unique gifts. Society desperately needs the energy, creativity, passion and persistence that only children with ADHD possess.

Celebrate!ADHD hopes its efforts will help restore dignity and purpose to thousands.
