Whitney McCoy, owner of Southern Scribbles, wanted to create an online site that, unlike her competition, allowed her customers a broad selection of fonts when customizing her range of stationery; so she turned to ozEworks to get the job done.
(PRWEB) September 8, 2005 -- Looking to take her business online as part of her expansion plans, Whitney McCoy, owner of Southern Scribbles (http://www.southernscribbles.com), wanted to continue to offer her clients the same range of fonts online as off. Simple right? Well not quite!
There are lots of sites these days that offer customizable stationery items. Business cards are big business for example in this industry and, when thinking online, Vista Print is an option that comes to mind. But it is not until you look closely do you realize that your choice of font is severely limited. How come? Well, blame technology, Bill Gates and the half-dozen standard fonts that PC's work with.
When seeking an internet solutions provider to partner with her in this endeavor, she came across Kym Romanets who understood her online needs immediately. According to McCoy, Romanets, owner of New York startup, ozEworks, Inc., had simply to be told in a few words what she wanted to achieve business wise and ozEworks did the rest.
"They tackled my font problem and did not give up until it worked," McCoy stated. "Kym understands small business. Her team was able to achieve a solution that I am sure I would have had to pay 10 times more for with any other company. I love my site – it looks great and it works great – what more can you ask for?"
And the font solution? A custom written HTML editor that can embed fonts. "We tried existing HTML editors but we could not add fonts, then custom Flash which proved too slow. So we went back to HTML again to write our own. This editor has a lot of uses in our applications", Romanets states. "We specialize in osCommerce, an open source eCommerce solution, and we are developing a few add on modules to it that will use it".
Can anyone else get a site like Southern Scribbles? "Sure, the Southern Scribbles application will appeal to a lot of graphic design businesses wanting to go online. Yall can just give us a call and say ‘Gday " quipped Australian-born Romanets.
