Javits Convention Center.

William Hyman, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Texas A&M University, serves as one of the MDEA Jurors. According to Hyman, This device addresses the particularly challenging area of patient-used devices, and provides a highly usable aid to those who inject their prescription drugs at home."

The Medical Design Excellence Awards competition is the only awards program that exclusively recognizes contributions and advances in the design of medical products. Entries are evaluated on the basis of their design and engineering features, user-related functions that improve healthcare delivery and change traditional medical attitudes or practices, features that provide enhanced benefits to the patient, and the ability of product development to overcome design and engineering challenges so that the product meets its clinical objectives.
