More than 900 people from countries ranging from Argentina and Bahrain to Turkey and the Ukraine, as well as the U.S., U.K. and Canada, submitted more than 3,000 business name ideas for a new web design/search engine optimization company in a contest sponsored by the discount naming company NamedAtLast.com

Goshen, MA (PressReleaseHelp/PRWeb) September 8, 2005 -- More than 900 people from countries ranging from Argentina and Bahrain to Turkey and the Ukraine, as well as the U.S., U.K. and Canada, submitted more than 3,000 business name ideas for a new Web design/search engine optimization company in a contest sponsored by the discount naming company NamedAtLast.com (www.namedatlast.com). The winning entry, Wings Wide Web, was submitted by 26-year-old Jacob Doran of Cartersville, Georgia.

"Not only does the name Wings Wide Web contain the initials 'WWW' in a creative way, but when you say it out loud, you can almost hear the wings of a client's business being spread to take off," says Marcia Yudkin, Head Stork of NamedAtLast.com, who narrowed the thousands of entries to the top ten. "This name also suggests a wide reach for the client's business after getting a Web site designed and optimized – and implies strong visual imagery around which the new business can be built."

Adds Bhavani Jampala, owner of the business that will soon have a site up at www.wingswideweb.com, the name he selected from the top ten entries, "The name has a good 'we've been there forever' feel to it. I'm thrilled with it."

For submitting the winning name, Jacob Doran receives $100 and the opportunity to serve as a professional namer for NamedAtLast.com, which brainstorms new company names, new product names and tag lines for just $997 and up.

"The contest celebrates creativity in service to customer appeal," says Marcia Yudkin, author of 6 Steps to Free Publicity and 10 other books hailed for their inventive zest. Yudkin launched NamedAtLast.com after being emailed one too many times by someone who got stumped naming their new business yet couldn't afford the $10,000+ fees of existing professional naming companies.

The contest also succeeded so well in functioning as a talent search for NamedAtLast.com that Yudkin has launched a second contest, to create a compelling tag line for a family law attorney. Deadline for the new contest, described at http://www.namedatlast.com/contest.htm, is October 31, 2005, and it also offers a prize of $100.

For a discussion of the selection process and rationale for the naming contest that just ended, see http://www.namedatlast.com/contest1results.htm.
