Ince & Co's Shipping & Trade practice is rated No.1 in London and the Asia Pacific region, and their 'International Emergency Response Team' is often required on site around the globe at major disasters or incidents. The response team can often be required to take statements from many of the parties involved. Provided with a suitable Internet connection BigHand software enables statements to be processed by secretaries in London instantly from wherever the lawyers are in the world. This has improved client service, removed workload from the remote workers and smoothed the peak of work that can take place when lawyers return to the office with bundles of tapes.
The firm's offices in Paris & Le Havre have also found that although 95 percent of their work is native French language, using local secretaries on-site, occasionally specialist English work is required. With BigHand Digital Dictation French lawyers now utilize CWP based in London, at the touch of a button, saving the cost of employing multi-lingual secretaries locally. During the next stage of the roll out, if local resources are not available, lawyers in all the Asia offices will be able to utilize the secretarial capacity based in the Hong Kong regional head office; and even route work to the CWP in London for overnight processing if required.
