This Internal Investigations Of Employment Issues Teleconference will be helpful to all individuals engaged in the conducting of investigations dealing with human resources.

(PRWEB) September 16, 2005 -- The seminar will provide you with a detailed outline of how to proceed through any internal investigation relating to the very broad class of issues presented in handling human resources. The most common areas for internal investigation generally center on disciplinary issues and/or investigating claims of illegal harassment or discrimination. This seminar will also teach you how to use the same basic principles in all human resource decisions, including how to go about hiring individuals, terminations, promotions and the like. The presentation will provide not only general legal principles, but also include specific questions that need to be asked in every investigation. The seminar will also cover a review of decision making as to who should conduct investigations, documenting the process and ultimately reaching a decision. This seminar should be helpful to all individuals engaged in the conducting of investigations dealing with human resources.

Anthony M. Stites, J.D., is a partner with the firm of Barrett & McNagny LLP. He represents business entities, ranging from very small to Fortune 100 companies, in handling all facets of their employment matters, including contract negotiations, labor arbitrations, NLRB proceedings, discrimination charges and suits, and workers compensation claims. Mr. Stites works on a daily basis with human resource personnel and in-house counsel to solve and prevent problems in the employment arena. Additionally, he has considerable trial experience defending employers in all areas of employment decisions, including the leading case in the Seventh Circuit regarding the FMLA. Mr. Stites is admitted to practice before Indiana state courts, United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, Ohio state courts, United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He has presented more than 100 speeches and/or seminars over the past 10 years, ranging from local seminars for the Council On Education In Management to participating in nationwide seminars including the Defense Research Institutes Seminar on Litigation. Mr. Stites received his B.B.A. degree in finance from The University of Toledo and his J.D. degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School. He is an accredited mediator, alternate dispute resolution and past president of the Allen County Bar Association, Labor Section.
