Admobile Hits Austin Streets Fueled by Recycled Vegetable Oil

Admobile Austin demonstrates environmental responsibility by fueling their fleet of mobile ad trucks with biodiesel fuel, a domestically produced, renewable fuel that is manufactured from vegetable oils.

(PRWEB) September 15, 2005 -- Admobile Austin, Austins leading mobile advertising company, today announced that their fleet of mobile ad trucks is now using biodiesel fuel, a domestically produced, renewable fuel that is manufactured from vegetable oils.

"Were very conscious of Austins environment and air quality," said Jefre Outlaw, Vice President Sales, Admobile Austin. By using biodiesel, were able to conscientiously provide our mobile advertisement offering and also help improve the citys environment by reducing gas emissions and particulate matter."

With its more than half a million registered motor vehicles being the major source of air pollution in Austin, the city has recently adopted new vehicle emissions standards that took effect Sept. 1 in Travis and Williamson counties.

Admobile Austin adopted the use of biodiesel in August 2005.

Biodiesel is rapidly becoming recognized as an important alternative to conventional fuel. Biodiesel has been shown to emit lower levels of carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons, and particulate matter than regular gasoline or petroleum diesel. Tests also show that biodiesel produces lower emissions of PAH (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) and nitrated PAH compounds, which have been identified as potential cancer-causing compounds. Because the fuel is produced domestically, it has decreases the country's dependence on foreign oil.

Admobile Austins fleet of trucks provides mobile billboards on which the advertisement changes every eight seconds. According to recent studies of mobile billboard advertising, recall rates with this type of advertising are as high as 97 percent.
