This project, which will incorporate over 1.2 million square feet, is proof the "knowledge economy" buzzwords that have been floating around Scottsdale for the past few years are more than just talk. In anticipation of new businesses and workers, Scottsdale has also invested more than $1 billion in internal improvements. Among these projects are improved parking garages, roads, signage, and other infrastructure improvements in downtown and south Scottsdale.
But the key remains attracting good businesses. By landing higher tech industries, a domino effect happens. As a realtor, Farrell is well aware of this: "People want to live close to work. Its very likely the ASU Scottsdale Center for New Technology and Innovation will eventually produce 4,000 high-paying jobs.
