(PRWEB) September 16, 2005 -- UK PR firm Practiva Communications has launched a new low-cost service designed to boost the marketing efforts of small businesses.

The new option, Practiva Express, is aimed at raising the profile of individual small businesses via coverage in newspapers, magazines and newsletters.

The service involves the production of press releases and their distribution to several specially selected publications.

Users of Practiva Express pay 150-200 per release - a one-off, fixed-price fee that includes distribution of the release by e-mail to anything up to 25 UK publications. The service includes advice on which publications to target in the national, regional and specialist press.

Many small businesses want to take up a more prominent position in the marketplace, but are not able to finance major marketing and PR campaigns. They rely heavily on their own networking, but raising awareness still further via the print media remains a direct and low-cost option worth trying, according to Jack Ashton, Practiva's Director.

"Businesses in the early stages of development tend to shy away from PR because of the heavy financial commitment that might be involved," he said. "At the same time, they may want to generate extra publicity in order to move their business onto a new, higher level. Their marketing options may be limited, but a newsy, well-crafted and properly targeted press release could make a real difference."

Practiva stresses that low cost does not mean low quality, with the consultancy able to offer clients the benefit of well over 30 years of experience in both journalism and PR.
