Fun and educational hands-on activity kits to help the young ‘engineer to experience, create, and learn.

(PRWEB) September 16, 2005 -- Edmund Scientifics, a leading multi-channel merchant for science hobbyists and enthusiasts announced today the launch of a new initiative, the Young Engineers Kit Program.

This new program takes a select number of Edmunds traditional educational items, and combines in a format that helps parents introduce their children to basic principles of engineering.

"Edmund Scientifics has always had a strong mix of products that appeal to engineers in a variety of fields. Because our merchandise always has some type of relationship to science in general, we count a lot of engineering professionals as customers." said Tim Burns, Catalog Manager for Edmund Scientifics. The Young Engineers Program really plays-off our strategic position in the market and serves our company's goal of providing educators, students, parents and others with the highest quality technology available for educational purposes."

The current program consists of three kits; each shipped individually every other week to give young engineers a new activity to look forward to in the mail. The Young Engineers Kits Program is a subtle and creative way to expose young persons to new challenges and opportunities during the important formative years. This program also offers parents a great opportunity to spend quality time together with their children. The kits can also be completed as an activity with an organized group of young persons.

With its launch last fall of the Edmund Scientifics Best Sellers catalog, its new EdTech title for science and technology educators and its traditional 100 Page Scientifics catalog, Edmund Scientifics now markets itself through three distinct catalog titles and a fully functional online presence.

We looked very closely at our customers, and saw an opportunity, says Burns. We found that parents continue to look for educational toys, but really want something focused. They come to us for products that are hands-on, and highly scientific because they want to engage their kids." The Young Engineers Program aims to do exactly that, engage the minds of our future problem solvers.
