Local Relief Organization Gets Help from Diddy

Restart Relief, based in Mississippi, is thankful for the Hip Hop mogul's gifts of clothing. personal care items and emergency kits.

Columbus, MS (PRWEB) September 17, 2005 -- A Mississippi-based hurricane relief organization, Restart Relief, has gotten lots of donations, but none as big as Diddy's. Sean Combs a.k.a Diddy, and his company Bad Boy Worldwide has donated hundreds of his brand name-Sean Jean clothes, personal care items, emergency kits and other essential items for Hurricane victims.

"We are so thankful to Bad Boy for their donations. The people in rural Mississippi that are in desperate need are getting stuff weekly and Diddy has been essential to this effort," said Niani Colom, executive director. "Within days of speaking with Bad Boy we received a truck load of items."

Restart Relief is an organization dedicated to assisting families or individuals affected by Hurricane Katrina to restart their lives. Restart Relief is supplying immediate short term goods, such as, clothes, toiletries, and food, to Mississippi shelters and working on raising long term monetary funds to directly purchase or provide the following: bus tickets to reunite family members, deposits on apartment or homes needed to rent and provide work clothes for job interviews and employment. They make weekly deliveries to rural Mississippi, such as, Laurel, Magnolia and Pascagoula which are poor communities devastated by the Hurricane.

"We are still in need of items and Bad Boy Worldwide, along with others are using their resources to get us the items," said Colom. "But, the relief efforts are just beginning, because most people are just realizing how much they have lost, so we know long-term funds will be necessary to help them re-establish themselves."
