Professional organizer offers tips regarding storage and recording of important/irreplaceable documents before a disaster strikes.
(PRWEB) September 17, 2005 -- "Nine out of ten homeowners don't know where the deed to their home is. Or for that matter, where other important or irreplaceable documents are stored," according to Janet L. Hall, Certified Professional Organizer and owner of OverHall Consulting.
According to Ms. Hall, many people think that disasters will never happen to them, and never think about where or how their important or irreplaceable documents are kept and stored.
Ms. Hall explains, "It has been my experience, in helping homeowners and business owners get organized, that just the day-to-day living or running a business is so time consuming that they don't realize until a disaster strikes how important it is to have at least some aspects of their life organized, especially important documents."
For a complete list of important documents that should be stored in a fire proof or safety deposit box and other tips please visit http://overhall.com/before_the_disaster.htm. At the very least Ms. Hall states that a written record of important policy, account and phone numbers, as well as medical information, should be recorded in one easy to locate book.
Janet Hall, The Organizing and Feng Shui Wizard, is certified as a professional organizer, records management specialist and in feng shui. Ms. Hall is a co-founder of the International Association of Professional Organizers (IAPO) and the current president of the Feng Shui Institute International (FSII).
