The European Commission selected EURid, a not for profit organisation built around the Belgian, Italian and Swedish registries, to run the .EU Top Level Domain (TLD). The .EU Registry will be modeled after Belgium's .BE registry systems, which has been integrated into NamesBeyond's advanced registrar technology platform.

NamesBeyond has undertaken special training of its staff to make sure that companies, law firms and holders of Intellectual Property rights who apply for their names in the .EU Sunrise Phase I and Phase II periods conform to the regulations correctly. Special processing and registration fees apply for all .EU Sunrise applications and registrations.
