ConnectYourCare Provides Easy Employer Migration to Consumer-Directed Healthcare With New Broker Offering

Health insurance brokers and consultants are now offering more healthcare choices to employer groups with a new Consumer-Directed Healthcare (CDH) migration path from ConnectYourCare.

Baltimore (HRMarketer/PRWeb) September 26, 2005 -- Health insurance brokers and consultants are now offering more healthcare choices to employer groups with a new Consumer-Directed Healthcare (CDH) migration path from ConnectYourCare, a CDH platform that provides state-of-the-art healthcare savings account administrative and information tools.

The ConnectYourCare FSA First (sm) solution allows brokers to transition employers to CDH at their own pace. By first offering the ConnectYourCare debit card funded through a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), employees can start planning healthcare expenses and experience the benefits of automated receipt substantiation process. The ConnectYourCare Wellness First (sm) communication program exposes employees to health assessments, optional incentive programs and access to commercial-free online medical encyclopedias, healthcare guides, and hospital and prescription comparison tools.

In a later phase, employers can introduce High Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs) with ConnectYourCare's HRA and HSA account administration using the same debit card. By phase three, employers who are in a position to migrate to a full replacement CDH model can do so, feeling confident that their employee base is ready for the change.

"Until now, employers who offer Flexible Spending Accounts have been unable to provide healthcare decision support tools and information to employees," said Jamie Spriggs, president and COO of ConnectYourCare. "These support tools are crucial if employers want to promote financial responsibility and employee consumerism."

Spriggs added, "Our carrier-independent solution, in conjunction with FSA First, enables a pathway to CDH with flexibility for plan changes as employees ease into the consumer-driven world. Regardless of their plan choices, all employees can start becoming active healthcare consumers while employers retain leverage over their plan design and choices. Our solutions promote employee and employer consumerism."
