London, UK (PRWEB) September 17, 2005 -- Following on from the success of 2004s inaugural tournament, Barwell Leisure announce the Second Footballers Golf Classic Dubai will take place from 5th to 12th November 2005.

This competition is a partner event to the famous Footballers Classic at La Manga Club in the south of Spain. The La Manga event has gone from strength to strength since it was inaugurated in 1996. (See more at http://www.barwell.co.uk/news2.asp?id=365)

The Dubai event will take place over 7 days. In that time one practice and three competition rounds will be played on some of Dubais world-class golf courses. Each day, each team of three will play with a different footballing icon.

Some of the legends confirmed for this years event include England World Cup winner Alan Ball, Ex-England manager Glenn Hoddle, Sky Sports and ex-Scotland striker Andy Gray, ex-Arsenal and double winning captain Frank McLintock, Chelsea and England left back Tony Dorigo, former Villa and Bayern striker Alan McInally, one time Leeds and Scotland left winger Eddie Gray, the great Pat Jennings and many more.

All these famous names, with playing and managing experience that spans more than five decades of top-level action, have plenty of fascinating stories and are sure to give a priceless insight into the real life of a player.

The competition has been scheduled to allow plenty of rest days for the participants: allowing competitors to go shopping, see the sights or just relax!

Creator and organizer of The Footballers Golf Classic Dubai, ex-footballer Terry Mancini, commented: "Non-playing partners are keen to travel to Dubai too, particularly because of the world-class shopping that Dubai offers".
