American Clay Earth Plaster, the natural finish for interior walls and ceilings has been selected as a 2005 Product of the Year in the “Finishes” category by Architectural Record (AR) and in the BuilderNews’ “Best Products of 2005”. This continues the award-winning status of American Clay, having previously won 2004’s Outstanding New Green Product from the National Assn. of Home Builders, and tops a year for the company that saw 400% increase in sales.

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) January 4, 2006 -- American Clay Earth Plaster, the natural finish for interior walls and ceilings has been selected as a 2005 Product of the Year in the “Finishes” category by Architectural Record (AR) and in the BuilderNews’ “Best Products of 2005”. This continues the award-winning status of American Clay, having previously won 2004’s Outstanding New Green Product from the National Assn. of Home Builders, and tops a year for the company that saw 400% increase in sales.

Each year, the magazines’ products juries sift through hundreds of submissions to select the best products in each category. The AR Product Reports jury includes professionals in the architectural and related, industries, some of whom are LEED-accredited. The list of all products winners is published in the December issue, and is online at http://archrecord.construction.com/products/reports/2005ProdReport.asp. As the monthly magazine of the American Institute of Architects, AR covers all aspects of architectural practice and has been a key publication to the architectural profession for 110+ years reaching over 300,000 architects and designers worldwide.

Both AR and BuilderNews have made note of American Clay in 2005, and we’re proud to have made our mark so as to be recognized as a year-end best product by such notable publications in these complimentary fields.
According to ArchitecturalRecord.com, “The jurors were drawn to colorful, well-researched, and sustainable products: Some are recognized for increasing sustainability without increasing price point, while others may address a common everyday problem, such as privacy in the open workplace environment. In most cases, the winners push the boundaries of what is normally expected, rather than reinterpreting the standard.” American Clay is a premier example of these criteria.

BuilderNews, the largest regional trade magazine covering the Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Texas and Utah construction industries, published their list of “Best Products of 2005” in the December issue,

“We are thrilled to be recognized by Architectural Record and BuilderNews in this manner. A great many architects and builders have discovered American Clay over the last two to three years. More clients are showing interest in natural products - especially if they are elegant and beautiful. It only helps when the product is easy to use, and saves money and the environment in the long run,” states Croft Elsaesser, Founder and CEO of American Clay. “Both AR and BuilderNews have made note of American Clay in 2005, and we’re proud to have made our mark so as to be recognized as a year-end best product by such notable publications in these complimentary fields.”

American Clay most recently introduced new application systems called “Dos Manos Classic” and “Dos Manos Pro System”, which augment the “Traditional System”. Both Dos Manos systems deliver a milestone in earth plaster application by eliminating the Primer step, greatly cutting labor costs. Additionally, Dos Manos Pro primarily targets major homebuilders, as preparation takes training and the product provides a harder finish than the Traditional system.
