Unsuspecting File Sharers May Find Their Digital Photos Online

The Webmaster of fitography.com urges users to be aware they might find their personal photos online for the world to see.
Be careful what you put in your shared folders. If you place digital camera images in your shared folder and run P2P applications, we will probably have them on our site sooner or later.

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) January 5, 2006 – A warning is being issued to anyone who stores their digital photos online: be careful. They might see their photos exposed to the world. For users who employ peer to peer (P2P) and file sharing programs, sites like http://www.fitography.com/ are downloading users' digital camera photos and displaying them online for others to view and make comments.

As of December 30th 2005 fitography.com has been downloading and displaying digital camera images from users across the globe, effectively turning the tables on file sharing users and grabbing their own content for redistribution.

The Webmaster of fitography.com, Brad Gosse, freely admits their shameless publicity, “Be careful what you put in your shared folders. If you place digital camera images in your shared folder and run P2P applications, we will probably have them on our site sooner or later.”

Gosse says users who wish to protect their digital camera images and other files from unwanted downloads should simply turn off sharing in Limewire, Kazaa or other P2P applications. Users who don't mind sharing some, but not all of their photos, should carefully check their Shared folder(s) for those photos they might want to delete.

Anyone who finds their photos on fitography.com and wishes to have them removed are urged to contact the Webmaster with details about the photo(s). Unwanted images will be removed from the site promptly.

About Fitography.com:
This website was started after the Webmaster learned that there was an unlimited supply of digital camera images being shared through P2P applications. “I enjoyed looking at other peoples photos so much I figured others would as well,” said the Webmaster.
