Golf Swing Training Program Promotes Significant Improvements in Golf Performance

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

Body Balance for Performance® is offering a golf fitness training program that makes it possible for each participant to achieve their ideal golf swing, increase endurance, reduce or eliminate injury, and lower scores by an average of four to six strokes.

(PRWEB) January 20, 2006 -- Developed by Paul Callaway, director of physical therapy on the PGA Tour in 1985, Body Balance for Performance® focuses on the body as the most important piece of equipment a golfer takes to the course. This complete golf, health, and fitness training program looks at golf swing flaws in terms of body problems.

"Golf involves the physical ability to rotate the hips and the spine," said John Winget, physical therapist and owner of Body Balance for Performance of Westchester. "When a golfer experiences limitations in rotation, there are compensatory movements in the golf swing. These compensations will adversely affect the golf swing and frequently cause injury."

Golf involves the physical ability to rotate the hips and the spine
Body Balance for Performance trainers know what body problems lead to golf swing problems. After the physical evaluation, the Body Balance trainer videotapes the golfer swinging a club. The trainer then pinpoints the body issues causing the golf swing flaws and designs a golf fitness training program that resolves the physical limitations that hinder the golfer’s ability to make a repeatable, consistent, and safe golf swing. This customized golf fitness training program considers the golfer’s performance goals, time frame for achieving those goals, and personal needs.

"Our golfing clients really like a program that is efficient and effective," said Winget. "Consistency and accuracy improve measurably while drives are longer and scores are lower. Additionally, this is a fitness program. While golf performance improves, our clients also report feeling better and healthier in general. It’s a win-win: They play better and they feel better."

Golfers who are interested in any of the following can benefit from the Body Balance golf swing training program:

  • Improving consistency
  • Improving accuracy
  • Less pain
  • Longer driving distances
  • Lower scores
