Georgia Department of Education and Georgia Action for Healthy Kids to host wellness policy workshops in February

In partnership with the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), Georgia Action for Healthy Kids is hosting two one-day complimentary satellite training sessions, titled Developing School Wellness Policies: A Team Approach Satellite Training. The training is designed to help with the new federal requirement for a local wellness policy.

Decatur, GA (PRWEB) January 23, 2006 -- In partnership with the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), Georgia Action for Healthy Kids is hosting two complimentary satellite training sessions, titled Developing School Wellness Policies: A Team Approach Satellite Training. The training is designed to help with the new federal requirement for a local wellness policy. The program is open to all interested contributors available statewide at Georgia Education Training Centers and offered on two days, February 15th at 4 p.m. and February 22nd at 9 a.m. SPACE IS LIMITED.

The workshops are an opportunity for School District Representatives, School Administrators, School Board Members, School Nurses, Public Health, Healthcare Providers, community-based organizations, and parents to learn about federal requirements for wellness policies from expert sources, including the Superintendent of Schools, the Director of School and Community Nutrition, and local PE Specialists. Attendees will also hear about resources they can use to assist in developing and implementing strong policies, other districts' successes.
