World's Biggest Music List

What can you buy with a dollar these days? Well if you’re a musician, and you’re trying to bring attention to the fruits of your labor, that dollar can now buy worldwide publicity. Come be a part of watching a small site grow into the World's Biggest Music List!

(PRWEB) January 24, 2006 -- Musicians who are trying to bring attention to their work can now get worldwide publicity, for as little as one dollar. That’s the aim of a new website FOR musicians, BY musicians. While it’s still in its infancy, its creator hopes to see it become the world’s biggest music list.

“I am an artist myself and I kept trying to think how I could not only get myself exposure on the internet, but also help others. That's how this site was born”, says Don Shetterly of Tropical Hands, the main man behind worldsbiggestmusiclist.com. “This site isn't about what I think is great music or not great music. It is about what each artist wants to contribute to get the exposure they want. There are no ‘editors picks’ or ‘favorites’. Everything on this site is driven by overall dollar contributions and the number of referrals each artist makes. That's pure, simple, and the fairest system that I know of.”

By adding their CDs/Albums to this list for a minimum contribution of a dollar, the artist gets a place on the list along with a link to their website. In addition, it qualifies them for additional options like a sound clip link, a featured link, and placement in up to two categories for an additional fee. The list is ranked by total contribution, followed by number of friends referred, and then sign up date.

“What we hope to become is the world’s largest library of music, with no limits, no boxes, and no boundaries”, says Shetterly. “While it will be fun to watch the rankings on the site, the real fun is in knowing that music that deserves to be heard WILL be heard.”
