The "2005 Volunteers of the Year" include ten individuals who have impacted the Los Angeles community with their dediction to eliminating poverty housing. A ceremony will be held on Thursday, January 26th in Rolling Hills.
(PRWEB) January 24, 2006 -- Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (www.habitatla.org) will honor 10 individuals who have exemplified volunteerism in their commitment to help eliminate poverty housing. A dinner and short presentation will take place on Thursday, January 26th from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Rolling Hills Covenant Church to recognize the 2005 Volunteers of the Year. In keeping with the spirit of giving, Command Performance Catering, Inc. has graciously donated the entire dinner for the event.
The ten honorees (complete list on page two of release) have a combined total of 4,617 of volunteer hours. That is an average of 11.5 weeks, based on a 40-hour workweek. The total hours have a monetary value of $81,028.35 (based on Independent Sector’s 2004 estimate for the value of volunteer hours.) Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is proud to recognize this year’s honorees in appreciation for their hard work building homes for Habitat’s Partner Families.

This year’s ceremony will be held at the Rolling Hills Covenant Church located at 2222 Palos Verdes Drive North, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. The evening begins at 6:30 pm and dinner is served at 6:45 pm followed by a short presentation from 7:15 pm to 8:15 pm. Dinner is provided courtesy of Command Performance Catering, Inc. located in Burbank.
