The practice of auctioneering is a never-ending learning process
Fredericksburg, VA (PRWEB) January 26, 2006 -- At the 2005 Annual Educational Conference and Show in Richmond, the Virginia Auctioneer’s Association welcomed a new member to its Hall of Fame, Charles Nicholls, president of Nicholls Auction Co.
The honor was presented to Nicholls Saturday, Jan. 14, during an awards banquet.
Nicholls, whose business is based in Fredericksburg, started in the auction business in 1967, and founded his own company in 1971. He runs the company with his son, who started in the family business at the age of 5, and his daughter, who manages the office.
“They’ve never known anything but the auction business,” Nicholls said.
John said his father’s example has been an inspiration to him. The family business also has offices in Richmond and Leesburg, as well as an office in the North Neck region of Virginia.
The practice of auctioneering is a never-ending learning process, Nicholls said.
“To this day, I still practice. I practice while I’m selling, I practice techniques I want to try, and I listen to other auctioneers.
