Fashion Week debut, Actress Anna Maria Horsford will host a private Evening Tea Party and collection showing at an exclusive South Street Seaport loft in Manhattan. The celebrity event also will also pay tribute to 4 phenomenal women from New York and New Jersey's Law Enforcement Agencies.
On Wednesday, February 8th, 2006, Sofistafunk Skirt Co. will present a buyer and press only fashion presentation featuring both the women and girls Spring/Summer 06 and Fall/Winter 06/07 collection from 12:00 noon - 6:00 p.m.
The Invite and RSVP only events will be held at 34 Cliff Street beginning with a Buyer and Press Only presentation from 12noon - 6 p.m. followed by a Cocktail Reception from 7 - 8 p.m. The Evening Tea Party and Collection Showing will begin at 9 p.m.
Sofistafunk is the collaboration between Arlinda McIntosh and her daughter-in-law, Cheshire Mickens. This designing duo create sophisticated yet funky skirts that draw inspiration from early 18th century to late 1950, capturing the refined grace and elegance from yesteryears bygone eras.
As part of their philanthropic pursuits, McIntosh and Mickens launched the SOFISTAFUNK Social Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating life through fashion, community service and the donation of garments to various charities and other organizations raising awareness about women's and children's issues.
