Gentle Pilates Now Offered in Encinitas, CA Area

Right method of exercise for everyone in any condition. All it takes is practice and persistence.

Encinitas, CA (PRWEB) October 10, 2006 -- Heidi Lerner, certified Pilates instructor, has begun teaching a new, user friendly approach of exercise to all age groups, from 18 and up. People often think that Pilates might be too much for them, yet everyone is looking for a way to feel better. For those wanting to seriously improve their state of health, a milder approach to fitness can be most appropriate. With Gentle Pilates, students take baby steps in building core strength and becoming more flexible. This method has been so effective for seniors citizens (taught at the Encinitas Senior Center), it is now being opened up for the less seasoned and precautious exercisers.

Workouts can be adapted to what a person is capable of, thus with personalized attention, almost anyone can benefit from Gentle Pilates. It is crucial that students understand and experience correct breathing, form of exercise and core-based movement. This yields unordinary physical strength, stamina, endurance, flexibility, easier or pain free movement, freedom in the joints and better posture. For more about Gentle Pilates, see http://www.pilatesintheflow.com/gentlepilates.htm.

One student from the Encinitas Senior Center, reports that she had hurt her back in a regular Pilates class, yet after attending Gentle Pilates, her chiropractor was surprised at the stability and flexibility of her back. He commented “Whatever you’re doing now, just keep it up!”. The only thing she did differently was to participate in Heidi’s Gentle Pilates class. Both she and her chiropractor accredit Gentle Pilates for her improvement.

Ms. Lerner is starting to teach Gentle Pilates in the San Dieguito Adult Education Program on Monday mornings from 10:30-11:30 am, as well as Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:30 pm, for people ages 18 and up. To enroll in these classes, call (760) 753-7073 #3418. Gentle Pilates mat class continues to be taught at the Encinitas Senior Center on Monday mornings from 9-10 am, for people aged 50 and up. To enroll in these classes, call (760) 943-2250. Heidi also provides one-on-one sessions on the Pilates equipment in her studio, giving 100% attention to clients. Heidi Lerner, certified Pilates instructor, teaches Pilates in a way that develops core strength and flexibility in a step by step manner so that it is not too difficult for students. The Gentle Pilates approach has been time tested with senior citizens and is now starting to be taught to all age groups at the San Dieguito Adult School. As Ms. Lerner's students progress gently, they are often surprised at the resulting ease and comfort with which they carry themselves. Under Heidi's "Gentle Pilates" guidance, students deepen body awareness, are moderately physically challenged and even have some fun.
