(PRWEB) October 10, 2006 -- Did you know falls are the leading cause of injuries, death and disabilities among people over the age of 65? One of four people over age 65 who live at home will fall during the next year, according to the American Physical Therapy Association.

Dizziness will occur in 70 percent of our population at some time in their lives, and 40 percent will experience dizziness that is serious enough to see their doctor, according to the National Institute of Health.

Many thousands of people suffer or will suffer from dizziness, loss of balance, nausea, vertigo, visual and hearing problems. These are symptoms of vestibular disorders, trauma from head or neck injuries, middle ear infections and degeneration, headaches or strokes.

While many people believe these symptoms is something they just need to live with because of past injuries or a poor health choice that is not true. There is a place to turn to for help.

PEAK & Balance Centers of America is a unique, growing group of outpatient clinics dedicated to the management of balance and dizziness (vestibular) disorders, hearing dysfunction, and sports and orthopedic injuries.

Our licensed, certified physical therapists conduct a comprehensive examination and evaluation. We use state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose, assess, and prescribe an effective treatment plan. We develop a customized plan for every patient to use at home to facilitate progress and effectively resolve symptoms. Studies show 85 percent of patients achieve full recovery within six weeks of vestibular rehabilitation.
