New York, NY (PRWEB) October 7, 2006 -- BreakThru Radio (BTR), the Internet’s voice of the World’s Best Independent Music, introduces The Jazz Hole, a new specialty show designed to introduce new listeners to the best independent and underground jazz. BTR’s 4 million plus listeners have already been exposed to all sorts of genres, and now host Patrick Wimberly presents a new and exciting playlist each month.

The Jazz Hole features a wide array of artists both old and new, with its premiere show highlighting such acts as the Hal Galper Trio, Brian Hass, and James Gordon Williams. It’s a treat for any music fan, regardless if they are familiar with the genre or not. From start to finish, The Jazz Hole strives to keep listeners interested, with each scat, rhythm and beat.

Host Patrick Wimberly is no stranger to the genre. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee he began studying music at the age of 12 and by the sixth grade he had formed his own band. Wimberly received a music scholarship to attend the University of Colorado, where he played jazz vibraphone and worked as a freelance performer. Before arriving at BreakThru, he produced and hosted a show at Radio 1190, an independent college station and staple in the Denver music scene. Now in Queens, Wimberly works as a producer and engineer in a recording studio called The Basement.

The Jazz Hole is just one of the many specialty shows BTR has to offer. Wimberly will gather the best underground jazz each month, bringing hundreds of new artists to the forefront. Jazz has long been considered an acquired taste, for a very specific niche. But with one listen to The Jazz Hole, everyone will be a fan.
