Interlink Networks Expands RADIUS Server Policy Management

RADIUS Server Delivers Advanced Capabilities Without Custom Programming.

Ann Arbor, MI (PRWEB) October 16, 2006 –- Interlink Networks announced expanded policy management capabilities in its newest release of its AAA RADIUS Server software. The RAD-Series RADIUS Server Version 7.2, released today, delivers policy management as part of the user authorization process. The RADIUS policy management uses a set of rules to administer, manage and control access to network resources.

Policy management at the RADIUS server simplifies the development of advanced applications and services for Carriers and Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Access to networks can be managed by creating policies that define the advanced services and network capabilities offered by the provider. By implementing the business rules as network access policies, revenue-generating features such as triple-play wholesale services and QoS management can be configured on the RADIUS server without requiring custom programming.

Policy management is part of the user Authorization process in the RAD-Series RADIUS Server which deploys a set of rules to administer, manage, and control access to network resources. Policies can be written to accomplish specific tasks such as to set limits, access restrictions, or service capabilities. Interlink’s Advanced Policy Engine allows Carriers and ISPs to easily define and enact custom policies with flexible policymaking capabilities that can solve virtually any problem that would traditionally require custom programming.

Policy management has been a standard capability for Interlink’s RAD-Series RADIUS Server for the last six years and has been deployed by hundreds of Carriers and ISPs to date. The latest release, Version 7.2, extends the power of policy to include pre and post-authentication policy processing. This makes it easier to accommodate non-compliant RADIUS clients by converting data into consistent formats for RADIUS server processing and post-processing packets into unique formats required by non-compliant network elements.
