Internet Gambling Ban Hits Party Poker Players Hard

Every American poker player felt like they were stun gunned over the weekend as the biggest blow to USA poker players hit, Party Poker closed to Americans. In the aftermath a new webpage was developed which tracks poker rooms as they close or release statements of staying open to USA.

(PRWEB) October 16, 2006 -- A new webpage was created to inform American internet poker players about which poker sites are still open to USA players at www.compatiblepoker.com/usa.php. This all came after a depressing weekend for internet poker gamblers.

There are now 3 people working on the website to keep the information as accurate as possible for US poker players desperately searching for a USA accepted poker site.

Poker rooms are reversing their decisions every couple hours it feels like. These poker rooms are seeking extensive legal advice to decide whether to stay open to American players or not
“Poker rooms are reversing their decisions every couple hours it feels like. These poker rooms are seeking extensive legal advice to decide whether to stay open to American players or not,” said CompatiblePoker CEO, Roger Shriver.

At first Poker Stars, 888, and Party Poker were the first to drop out. Fortunately Poker Stars is one of the companies that reversed their initial decision and are now on the “American supported poker room” list at www.compatiblepoker.com/usa.php.

The list is said to be very comprehensive and even smaller sites like Pitbull poker are mentioned. Some of the larger networks were grouped into their brand category to reduce page size. An example was the Prima Network which dropped out of the USA market.

Certain internet poker sites like Poker Stars and Full Tilt will be offering special deposit bonuses for the race to attract all the stranded American poker players. The rooms which are offering special incentives were listed at the USA accepted poker page at www.compatiblepoker.com/usa.php.

The internet gambling ban also affected sportsbooks and internet casino gamblers. Because CompatiblePoker mostly tracks poker rooms their USA accepted casino page is not quite as extensive but still lists most of the major sites which made decisions at www.compatiblepoker.com/us.cms.htm

Future press releases regarding the internet gambling ban and the effects is has on closing down of certain sites will be tracked at these pages.
