Saddler's Creek Wines has won the trophy for best sweet wine at the 2006 Royal Adelaide Wine Show for its Botrytis Semillon. Under the label of Botrytis Supreme, Saddlers Creek outpointed Australia's best dessert wine makers.
Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) October 18, 2006 -- In a very tough field comprising Australia's best sweet wines Saddler's Creek from the Hunter Valley has won the 2006 trophy at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show with their Botrytis Supreme.
Made from 100% Semillon grapes this wine is an ideal sweet wine for the modern day desserts, not being overly sweet but with clean fruit flavours that enhance the flavour of the accompanying food.
This is another accolade for the award winning Saddler's Creek winery who have received gold medals and trophies for wines across their product range of reds,whites throughout this year. In just the last two months no less than four gold medals and two trophies have been won by this little known wine maker.
The 2005 Botrytis Supreme is available at the winery cellar door sales facility and selected quality wine shops for A$26 a bottle.
Only 500 cases(375ml bottles) were produced so it is sure to sell out very quickly.
As well as this wine also look out for their other recent Gold medal winners including; the 2001 Langhorne Reserve Cabernet, the 1999 Classic Hunter Semillon or their very well known Bluegrass Cabernet Sauvignon, current vintage is 2003.
