University of Chicago Graduate School of Business is top business school in 2006 bienniel ranking by Business Week magazine.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 21, 2006 -- The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business is the top business school in the 2006 biennial business school ranking by Business Week magazine. The ranking, in the October 23 edition, is based on surveys of recent MBA graduates and the corporate recruiters who hire them. A third component of the ranking is the intellectual capital of each school, which measures faculty research.

Corporate recruiters gave Chicago GSB graduates a grade of A for their communication skills, A for teamwork, and A+ for analytic skills. The graduates themselves gave the school A+ for teaching quality and A+ for career services.

“Students at Chicago give Dean (Edward) Snyder’s reforms an A+,” Business Week wrote.
The five top U.S. business schools, according to Business Week, are 1) University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, 2) University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, 3) Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, 4) Harvard Business School, 5) University of Michigan Ross School of Business.

Graduates of Chicago GSB in 2006 earned a median starting salary of $95,000, according to the new ranking. Signing bonuses and other forms of guaranteed compensation raised the total compensation even higher.

Chicago GSB “has an award-winning faculty that includes a winner of the MacArthur ‘genius’ grant, Kevin M. Murphy, and two Nobel prize winners,” Business Week wrote, “plus an alumni network that includes the former chief executive officers of Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Merrill Lynch.”

Chicago GSB http://chicagogsb.edu offers a full-time MBA program, part-time MBA programs, an executive MBA program, a Ph.D. program, open enrollment executive education and custom corporate education. The school has campuses in London and Singapore in addition to two campuses in Chicago.
