Shattered town receives unexpected support from leading authority on school emergencies.
Cheri provided the community with information on how to deal with the media and other critical needs via email, and Solution Tree ‘Fed Exed’ materials as well. At no cost to the community or to Cheri, Solution Tree arranged to send her to Pennsylvania to provide counsel and comfort.

Bloomington, IN (PRWEB) October 12, 2006 -- Less than a week after a gunman targeted innocent children in a one-room Amish schoolhouse, Solution Tree , a publishing company located in Bloomington, Ind., arranged for renowned crisis management expert Cheri Lovre to offer on-site counsel and comfort to the parents, school staff, and children affected by the tragedy.

An author and consultant, Ms. Lovre is experienced in helping school communities handle crisis situations and the difficult process of recovery. She consulted with the Columbine community after the deadly 1999 shootings, as well as schools in New York and New Jersey following the events of Sept. 11. Ms. Lovre and Solution Tree, a company that publishes and promotes the work of leading educational authorities, have been working collaboratively since 2003 to provide her crisis management resources and training to schools throughout North America. When Solution Tree President Jeffrey C. Jones was notified that Ms. Lovre had been in contact with a school district near the Amish community, he made a decision.

“The day of the shooting, Cheri was contacted by the assistant superintendent of a neighboring district that she supported after crisis events several years ago," Mr. Jones explained. "Cheri provided the community with information on how to deal with the media and other critical needs via email, and Solution Tree ‘Fed Exed’ materials as well. At no cost to the community or to Cheri, Solution Tree arranged to send her to Pennsylvania to provide counsel and comfort.”

Ms. Lovre offered on-site support to the community from Oct. 8 to Oct. 11, attending meetings, delivering statements to the media, and assisting leaders in their efforts to maintain a sense of stability and security after such a violent event.
