Talented Filmmaker Crafts a Spiritual and Psychological Thriller

"Night, Sylvie," the gripping novel by Shawn M. Tolhurst, delves into the necessity for trust even in a world that has gone awry.

Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) November 12, 2006 -- Women's fiction meets white-knuckle thriller in Shawn M. Tolhurst's provocative novel, "Night, Sylvie." In order to heal the world, this fast-paced novel suggests, people have a responsibility to heal themselves first.

Filmmaker/writer Shawn M.Tolhurst has an eye for detail and a talent for story, as she proves in this edgy suspense thriller. She's created an extraordinary heroine, Sylvie, whose life is battered by her work in the FBI, where serial killings and child molestations are par for the course. But while the world seems to be falling into chaos around her, and the danger is escalating, Sylvie must do all she can to protect her own inner world and psyche, and perhaps even find the nurturing power of love.

Tolhurst has thoroughly researched both serial killers and the law officers who set out to catch them. The author's experience and insight have created a powerhouse chiller that is as humane as it is thrilling.

"Readers who enjoy detective fiction that is also literary, who appreciate the prose as much as the plot will do well to delve into this book. Refreshingly different…genre-bending." Ellen Tanner Marsh, New York Times best-selling author
