Former British SAS hero and number one bestselling author brings unique mix of experience, innovation and insight to forge the company's strategic security vision.

St. Petersburg, FL (PRWeb) December 19, 2006 -- Grand ISS, a global provider of security, risk management and investigative solutions, today announced that Chris Ryan MM joined the company as Senior Vice President and Chief Security Officer for International Special Operations effective December 1, 2006. Mr. Ryan, an ex-SAS renowned trooper, will play a key role as security and intelligence specialist formulating the company's global solutions; his operational focus will be on highly challenging security and protection assignments worldwide, with particular emphasis on volatile and high risk regions.

"We're thrilled to welcome such a seasoned military professional and legendary hero to our executive team," said Ralph V. Frasca, Jr., Grand ISS' CEO. "Chris' accomplishments with the distinguished SAS Regiment have not only earned him the Military Medal, but are indicators of his extensive expertise and exceptional leadership capacity." In recounting Mr. Ryan's daring escape from Iraq during the first Gulf War, Mr. Frasca noted the congratulatory quote "You personally made SAS history," made by General Norman Schwarzkoff in response to Ryan's historic feat. Mr. Ryan was part of an eight-team member BRAVO TWO ZERO mission in which three of his colleagues were killed and four were captured and tortured. Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II awarded him the Military Medal to credit him for what was the longest escape and evasion in the history of the SAS. "These accolades give well-deserved recognition to Chris," continued Mr. Frasca, "and are a testament to the best-in-class standards consistent with the Grand ISS team of world-class professionals dedicated to providing excellence in security and investigative services worldwide."

Some of the other significant accomplishments highlighting Mr. Ryan's broad range of experience include his participation in both overt and covert operations, acting as sniper team commander of the "Special Projects" anti-terrorist team, and responsibility for the selection and training of SAS recruits. Following his famed service in the SAS, which he left in 1994, Mr. Ryan went on to become a respected and recognized author with several number one bestselling books including The One That Got Away, which depicts his own account of the Iraq escape. He wrote two other non-fiction thrillers, eleven novels, and twelve adventures for younger readers, the Alpha Force series, which has also proven very successful. Mr. Ryan appears regularly on television with series such as Hunting Chris Ryan, Pushed to the Limit (toughest families), Terror Alert (Sky TV, 2004) and How Not to Die (Sky, 2005).

"Today's sophisticated security threats require more than conventional solutions, which is why we enthusiastically welcome Chris," said Mr. Frasca. "We believe his extraordinary track record, dynamic reputation, and innovative influence fortifies our position as an emerging international company providing complex multicultural security solutions ─ expertly designed to safeguard the global environment. It's a remarkable challenge for a remarkable man."
