London, England (PRWeb) December 11, 2006 -- Getting to the top of the world’s most famous search engine is a dream for anybody who runs their own website, or designs them on behalf of clients. Attain that number one spot and you’re well on your way to online success. Now a $6,000 contest from Wordtracker.com aims to give anyone the skills they need in just five days of intensive instruction.

The winner will be taken to the Disney Resort in Florida for a 5-day SEO mastery Workshop, run by some of the leading search engine teachers in the world. The prize includes a return flight and accommodation as well as a full year subscription to Wordtracker, an essential tool for search engine optimization experts everywhere.

Search engine optimization is not about trying to trick Google or any other search engine, it is about systematic planning and hard work. These are skills anyone can learn, and we hope to prove that in our contest.
Keywords are the building blocks of any exercise in search marketing. According to Wordtracker CEO, Andy Mindel, “Keywords are simply the words people use when they search. Use those words in your web copy and people will find your site.

“The workshop will teach the lucky winner how to do detailed keyword research and how to incorporate that research into a successful online business strategy.

“Search engine optimization is not about trying to trick Google or any other search engine, it is about systematic planning and hard work. These are skills anyone can learn, and we hope to prove that in our contest.”

The contest marks the launch of the free Keyword Expert Newsletter is open to anyone over 18, whether they’re an established business or an aspiring entrepreneur, whether they’re a government employee, a teacher or a non-profit worker – indeed anyone who publishes a website.

John Alexander, an SEO expert who runs the SEO Mastery workshops with fellow guru, Robin Nobles says they get all sorts coming to the workshops. “The internet is so much a part of our lives now that many different people from many different sectors need to know about search engine optimization and make sure their website gets found on Google.

“We ensure that every question people have about search engines gets answered. We aim to get people to an SEO comfort level. They all go away with a fantastic level of knowledge and the security of a six month mentoring program afterwards,” Alexander said.

So what do you have to do to win? Andy Mindel says, “Just tell us in 200 words or less why you’d like to build your SEO skills – and once you do win, write a daily blog post to let us know how you’re getting on.”
